2 more Sleeps!!!

Yep, counting them down,( who says only kids count down sleeps, we colour in too, like 5 year olds!LOL)  leaving here early Friday morning for a girls weekend away, checking out scrapbooking shops, pet shops ( for Marise & I ) , the cheesecake shop( Yummy!) and SENZ of course !! Good thing we're taking Denise's van....

 Saturday night we'll be relaxing with a bottle of Baileys, watching the Twilight DVD, and rummaging through all the goodies we've bought.

This is another card I did for the Crafty Tart card swap, using Kaisercraft papers, Su card and ribbon, my cute new puddy tat from Magnolia (would've 3D'd it but the envelope was huge enough already, sending off 12 cards!) . 

Strawberries & Chocolate

The challenge this week on Stampin for the weekend is strawberries and chocolate. There's my strawberry on the card, I ate the chocolate... !

Image is a sugar nellie, coloured with copics, papers and card are SU. Buttons are random, lace is from Tracy. Ta Trace!

Our house is back to normal, Riley's girlfriend has gone home, he's a wee bit sad but he's eating again now!Never seen anything put him off his food before but lovesickness!LOL! Now we just gotta wait and see if he's really done the job...will there be baby ginga's in 63 days time?

Need some sleep!

Gemma goes home today..hope Riley settles tonight! Last night the little toad kept whining for her. Tried moving him to another room, he got louder, took him out to the shed, he screeched!LOL! Ended up that I moved into the spare room with ALL the dogs and we all settled , till the cat tried to sleep on my chest. He's a big heavy boy, all 6.6kg, I couldn't breathe, so had to chuck him out of the room.  Riley was quite happy to snuggle, as long as Gemma was there too! Aargh!!

 Next card for the swap is another Tilda, on random paper from my leftover pieces.  The card and filigree brads are SU

Number Two

Next card for the crafty tart card swap is one using one of my new Tildas ( isn't she cute?) and kaisercraft Duchess papers. Coloured with copics, random flowers and SU cardstock. Dewdrops added also. 

Riley has been a busy boy, he's worn out now!So am I from supervising...don't think I'll get into dog breeding, too much to worry about!

Bliss

I have time to myself...well I did till Tracy convinced me to join in a card swap!!  Decided I would try and combine them with some challenges. So , first is my High hopes entry, lots of dots. This is a favourite image, the carrot express. It is coloured with copics and twinkling H2O's. the paper is a mixture including SU and whatever spotty stuff I could find.

  Riley is a man! LOL!  He has a girlfriend here to make puppies with and he's figuring out what he's sposed to do. Don't think he'll be able to go back to Camilla, his gorilla, when Gemma leaves!!LOL. Gav was a bit worried yesterday that Riley might be gay, cos they played together, but that was it!

Onto the last Twilight book now....what will I read when I've finished that?!  Nothing will compare!!LOL!

Liquorice Allsorts!!!

Good grief...I like liquorice allsorts occasionally but didn't mean my card to look like one!LOL!   Thought I'd try Kimmi's sketch for stampin for the weekend, used my new BG June bug paper. Hmmm. Maybe too much black....

  I also discovered something quite useful when I was colouring my yellow flower with copics. DON'T handle your damp flowers when you have cuts on your fingers! Ouch! Alcohol stings!

Card is SU, sentiment is SU, brads are BG, cut the circles with nesties. Image is a magnolia, I think she's pretty cute.

 We have Gav's daughter Hazel and her friend Sophie here from Auckland for a few days. Gee, I feel like a dwarf, Haze is SOOOOOOO tall!LOL.  Gav has taken them up the mountain to slide in some snow. I decided to hibernate for the day.

Yes, I have finished another card, this one for the Stampin for the Weekend challenge. The challenge is to make a pocket or wallet card.   I have been so good, using up some of my older paper pieces ( do I get a medal?) .

Wow, its a nasty day here,cold, wet, wind from the south, I  don't think the hairy ones will get their walk before I go to work this morning! Poor babies. Riley is still in bed...my bed that is!! Love the tousled look!

Here is my card for the Stamp with Fun challenge, hope I'm still in time. Very girly card....not really my style I think....still, used up some more bits lying around!LOL. Bits of SU paper and card stock, some K & Co, some MME, random flowers , sentiment is SU. Image is a GG coloured with copics ...mmm...must be time to order a few more.....

Scraps

The challenge at High Hopes is to use up your scraps. Ha!  Well, use some of them anyway!LOL! Here is my hippo ( coloured with copics)  that I haven't even used before, on a bed of leftovers! Couldn't resist colouring the toenails and highlighting with crystal effects. Have used SU card stock and a hodge podge of other bits, including SU felt fusion flowers.

 We had a fun night at the school hall last night,  making gift cards and boxes, and watching the team assembling their scrapbook pages. So cool girls, wish I had my camera there.  It was hilarious to see them all file outside, each with a page ripped out of a book, where they then proceeded to burn the edges. Fire bugs! The smell of smoke hovered for ages!

 Right, done the card, now back to my book...LOL!

Almost missed the post!

 

 Having so much fun ( NOT!) shuffling dogs and handlers around on my screen for our agility show that I almost forgot to finish my card for Stampin for the Weekend.. !!!

 I've decided I have lots of scraps of paper to get rid of  so refused to cut into any new sheets this time. Aren't I good? Wont last though! The theme for this challenge was Rock 'N' Roll 60s songs and I chose "Please Mr Postman" , which is probably fairly obvious!  Paper, ribbon and card stock is all SU, the image is one from Rubbadubbadoo ( I think)  and Mr Mouse has been coloured with copics, and his eyes and nose touched up with crystal accents.  The flowers are Stichels stamps coloured with copics , and yes, those are old stamps. Yes..I have a pile of old stamps!

Gav wanted to know what my latest delivered parcel was, "Surely not more STUFF?!@!!!!!" Can never have enuff stuff I reckon!   

Krafty

The Sugar bowl challenge this week is a sketch by Lilian and it is to include "Kraft".  Used some DS Kaisercraft paper, SU card stock, Gorjuss Girl coloured with copics , Ribbon by SU and one of my cute bronze flowers and a leaf I found...

  Its a bitter day outside, even though the sun has been shining , the wind is icy. We've had such a cold winter so far ( for us!!!) ...the boys  have been snuggled on my bed in the sunshine, both wearing jumpers ! Riley weards a camo jacket cos he can't get it off! He's a real Houdini with knitted jumpers and can get them off in seconds. Vinnie is a big woosie and loves anything that keeps him warm.

Some Sugar

This weeks challenge on A Spoonful of Sugar is a sketch by MichelleO.  Found these cool bronze flower thingies on the net so had to have a go making something with them! My papers are a mix of all sorts including MME , K & Co (which I really didn't want to cut up!) , and Kaisercraft, but the image is a Magnolia courtesy of Denise ( Thanks!) coloured with copics. The cardstock, ribbon and sentiment are SU.

Busy

Its been a busy week, with one thing and another and I've had this card sitting in pieces since last weekend!  I followed a sketch from Tiets, and used Basic Grey porcelain paper. The image is another gorjuss girl , I've coloured it with SU watercolour crayons. The sentiment is SU. I've used twinkling H2O and crystal accents on the wings, and made the dangle for the flower brad.

 I've killed my new printer! Aaarrggh!  So I have all these sketch challenges I'm trying to scribble onto bits of paper....then I can't follow my own drawing! I'm hoping Gav can fix it for me...I wont hold my breath though.  :(   

Digi-Monkey

 Have finally got around to colouring the cupcake monkey digital stamp I bought  off Dustin Pike's website.  Soo cute!  He has the cutest dragons and monkeys!  Papers and card are SU,so are flowers and buttons, and have coloured the images with copics. ( Have more copics coming soon! Yippee!)

 Drove to Palmerston North today and had lunch with my sister. We then shopped for a few hours....I bought a new sewing machine...oooops!  Sposed to be saving money for our expedition to Auckland next month to the papercraft expo......  At least this time I didn't buy more shoes!  I found the drive quite hard going, my shoulder is sore. So no agility training for the boys tonight. Besides, it feels frosty outside and I don't do cold very well.

The mind of Riley

I don't whether its because he's a dog, he's a male, or he's an Aussie ginga or all 3 ( no offense to Australians, really! ) . Take him outside onto the deck when its raining and he'll go " WHAT?!! You want me to go pee in THAT?!!! I'll get wet!" and he'll turn around and head inside.  But take him for a walk after the rain has stopped and he'll head for the longest wettest grass he can find to dive into! Comes out dripping from ears, face, legs, bum, and belly!  AArrgghhh!

  This card is my first attempt at a Colour Throwdown challenge....simpler than my usuals, found it hard not to smother it in buttons! Colours are SU Elegant Eggplant, Bordering blue and Barely Banana. The image is another GG, coloured with SU watercolour crayons and copics.

Patrick

 Had the challenge of doing a SU only scrapbooking page....never done one before and had to throw it together in a hurry ( thanks Tracy!!!) . Love the papers, from the new designer paper range. Then of course had to find some photos to go on it. Pat the Cat's turn this time. Of course some of the  embellies are not SU...but nobody's perfect!

 Now I've finished my quilt I've got to crochet 20 flowers for a scrapbooking class... gee I wish I had ten thumbs sometimes, then I wouldn't get these jobs!LOL!

 Had to laugh the other night, rang Denise and she wasn't home. Next thing I know theres a knock on the door and there she is on my doorstep ( in pyjamas & dressing gown!!LOL) with a bag of cheese for me.  At least is was dark and no-one could see her...I hope!  Ta Denise, very yummy selection.

 

Bella Rose

Ooooh! Love this designer paper from SU, think I might just have to play with it lots!  My order arrived yesterday but didn't feel up to much, a nasty head cold, then I had to work this morning, so have only just got around to looking at all the STUFF! Love the filigree brads too.... and the ribbon, and the in-colours!

  The flower is a stitchels stamp which arrived the other day and I've only just got around to inking up. The range is designed by the talented Hels  .  Perfect for this paper I thought!

  The image is one from Pink Cat Studio courtesy of Trace, and the sketch is one of  Tiets gorgeous creations..

 The girls at work expect morning tea when they work with me on a Saturday so I whipped up some chocolate mint truffles, dipped in dark chocolate. Very easy to make and not too much brain power involved!  They get to be my guinea pigs when I try a new recipe! LOL! 

Class stuff

This is what we started at Tracy's when Trace was visiting, and were sposed to finish Friday  night....well we couldn't be bothered putting it all together so ended up cutting and scoring for some class packs instead.  Finished my cards yesterday, otherwise, knowing me they would've sat for months, glowering at me, saying " You don't love us, you'll never finish us!" Or not....did I tell you I'm on some heavy duty pain relief and I think they may be affecting my perception of things!LOL!

Anyway, I'm starting to sound like Denise. This card box, 3 cards and envelopes are a cute idea for a gift.  All Stampin Up card ,paper, ribbon, stamps etc. Tracy has some other examples on her blog, using different paper & card.

 Gav has ridden to Manfeild today for a track ride-around day. He wanted to know if I'd like to go ( on the motorbike of course) and be his pit crew  ie hold up umbrella, hold up lap scores, make him sandwiches, massge in between rides.....oh yeh, wearing a bikini! Aaarrrgghhh! Nuff said.

Heart stopping moment, thought the computer had died, wouldn't boot, even from a boot disk.....HELP!  Turns out the external hard drives with all G's music somehow bogged it down ...whatever! We're working now!

 Here's my entry to Cute Card Thursday.  Challenge is to use any type of flower on a card. Easy!  My flower is from the new SU playful petals stamp set, cut out from SU designer paper. Pearls &  button are random from my stash. Card stock is SU, doodles are nesties. Coloured with SU inks and copics. Image is sugar nellie...again....

Scrappy

Well this makes a change, its not green!!!!  Don't know if I like it but anyway, had fun just using up scraps of SU & BG papers and found a High Hopes image I coloured ages ago but never got around to using. It was coloured with water colour pencils, copics and twinkling H2Os.  I like this image, reminds me of how Bruno used to snuggle....

 Visited Denise today and found out she's been ordering more stamps on the net! Tsk tsk! Sposed to be saving !!!! At least they are WOJ and I want some, so as long as I get to play with them I'll be happy!

Hope you had a good safe drive home Trace, it was great to meet you and Annette. Hope we weren't too noisy.....  Does hubby like the piccy of Riley? Gav was a bit peeved when I said I almost gave his ginger Poo away. The little toe-rag would be missed around here if I did.  He can be very cute!
