Is it Love?

This weeks challenge at Make it Colourful is to colour using  a lightsource from the top left for a change.

I've used Make it Crafty's "Sophie dreaming" and Park bench for two" . She's obviously dreaming about someone to share the bench with! I've coloured with copics, used some yummy new K & Co Julianne paper, mesh from Bunny Zoe's, seam binding,   and the heart and swirl are lasercut chipboard  from Make it Crafty.

I'm entering this in Paper Romance - anything goes
Fresh Brewed - ribbons & bows

We had a fun day at dog training today, " A Dog's Day Out'" for all the local dogs and owners to come along, join in some fun and to raise money for the SPCA.  Vinnie won first place for his trick, standing still on hind legs for ages then taking a bow! And he got 3rd in fancy dress, he was a skunk. Brodie got 3rd in Club obedience dog,  and he WON the HANDSOMEST dog!!! Woohoo! But then I always knew he was a handsome dude!

Brads, Gem or Dew Drops

OK, I know I've been an absentee blogger and thanks to everyone who has contacted me, but we're all OK in this part of the country.   Its been a huge shock to see what has happened in Christchurch and the lines of communication have been overloaded but so far everyone I know is safe.

On to this weeks Southern Girls challenge, we want you to join in with your projects, using brads, gems or dewdrops. Easy Peasy.   I threw this card together after our exhausting dog show this last weekend, using bits that were sitting on my desk. The image is a hanglar I coloured some time ago with distress inks, just to practise some folds on her dress. The green flower I made ages ago with some lining material I had lying around and yes I did mean to expose the frayed edges! LOL!  The swirl is grungepaper coated with enamel accents which I must say is very cool! The paper is BG Curio.
Thanks to Zoe from Make it Crafty for the cute little tag sentiment she sent me in my last treasure filled parcel!!

Our sponsors are Wild Orchid Crafts and Artfull Crafts from NZ .  Check out what my teamies have been up to and don't forget you can enter a scrapbook page or any other project you like!

Shadows & depth

Didn't think I would get around to finishing this card but a bit of therapeutic colouring is just what I needed after the week I've had.

This weeks challenge at Make it Colourful is to use shadows and depth with your colouring. We are sponsored by Whimsy Stamps and were given some cute digi images to work with  , though I must admit I have had this dog for a long time , in rubber,  so I had to use it....um I think for the first time!
The paper is DCWV and the background is from Make it Crafty and is called Wonky house on a hill and you can find it HERE.     The hearts are also from Make it Crafty, from the lasercut chipboard Love heart swirls.  I coated them in Pearl Pen bronze.

Goodbye my Sweetie

My darling old girl died yesterday  morning after a rough couple of days. The vet came and she went to sleep lying on our deck, in my arms.
We think she had a minor stroke  on top of everything else  (brain tumour) and was having trouble with everything . She lost her appetite . Brodie has lost his big sister who he loved to torment and I've lost my big golden shadow......

Abbie asleep on my bed

Bruno & Abbie did everything together when they were young.  Then Bruno died almost exactly 2 years ago.  Abbie plodded on, became my shadow.  I could always rely on her to be there!

This is my favourite pic of them almost exactly 13 years ago, when we brought her and her brother Bruno home. Now she's gone to be with him .......

You want fries with that?

I love these Emerald faeries!  Deb of Deb's Creations has challenged her DT to make a fry box, using these her cute faeries  which can be found  exclusively HERE in either digi format or rubber stamp.

I have used Boo perched on the flower stem and one of the Larakins hanging from it.  The flower stem is Prima I think , and the leaf ribbon from my stash.
What I really love about this is I used some of my gazillion pieces of SU paper!  Ha!

Here's a sneaky for you!

Meet Pippy, she's a bug catcher ! Or maybe she's an environmentalist....Pippy Irwin!! crikey!
This is one of the fun new images coming to Make It Crafty very soon and I got a chance to have a play with one this weekend. Pippy and her buddies will be coming out in digital and rubber stamps also, so whatever your preference, you can play too!
I used copics of course ( with the odd little shadow done with prisma pencils...oooh I'm getting adventurous ! LMAO!) and matched her up to the BG Max & Whiskers paper I used . I have to choose my paper first or the image sits looking lost on  my desk cos I can't decide what to match it up with.  I have a little pile of these orphans at the moment.......

The flowers are from my stash and I used a pearl pen in the centres , a swirl from a Mariannes die ,and a butterfly charm from goodness knows where. Otherwise, a clean and simple card, well for me it is! OK , so I have no idea how to do clean and simple!

I have to admit that after colouring this I spotted a ladybird crossing in front of me and some friends yesterday  and I made them all stand back and give the little bug the right of way. I was ready to wallop anyone who stood on it!  OK, I'm a dick!

Making Cow eyes!

This week the Colour Addicts are challenging you to blend blue & purple together! Difficult? Nah! Not at all!  I've used copics colours B000, B91, B93, B95 and B97 , blended with V12 & V15  on the cow and curtains.

Our challenge is also sponsored by Karens Doodles  so I've used Karen's Divine Bovine ( she's checking out the bulls next door!) set in Make it Crafty's Open Window  which you can find HERE.
The paper is Crate Paper Restoration, the heart ( painted with distress crackle paint) and the corner flourishes which I've heat embossed are from the Love Heart Swirls laser cut chipboard from Make it Crafty which you can find HERE. I've been planning on using these for ages but  just never seemed to have the right card!

Now head on over to the Make It Colourful Challenge blog to see what the others have created .

I'm entering this in Creative Craft - Hearts & flowers
Double Dutch- Love is in the air
