Circles

Time for another challenge at Southern Girls. This time we want to see some circles!   I've used an image from Just Some Lines ...called " Fairy Kyra Watching".
I used my polychromo pencils this time, I LOVE my pencils!

Right, now to to brush and trim Brodie, ready for his first walk in the A & P Show Parade.  I just hope he will behave, though after a hot morning at agility and a play with his friend Lulu, I think he's tired enough to be calm....I hope!

What a poser!

This years National Dog Agility Champs (NZDAC) are being held this weekend at Bulls which is just down the road ( an hour and a half away) and our club is running one of the rings so I couldn't pass up the chance to take Riley for his first taste of a BIG show, (but just one day for us, I don't think I'd cope with 4 days!!!!)  Up at 5am yesterday, snuck out of the house with Riley tucked under my arm , and off we went.
Ran in Starters, got disqualified. Not a bad run but stuffed up the weaves.  Ran in Novice, and was much happier with our run, we went clear! Yay! Ran Jumpers C , another nice run by the little ginga, another clear!  And we both had FUN!  And I didn't trip myself up, even better! LOL

Got the surprise of my life when I went over to HQ to check the provisional results and found he was second in Jumpers and 3rd in Novice!!! Then at prizegiving got another surprise when he was awarded 2nd in Novice as well...serve me right for not checking the final results!

So, 2 second place ribbons, some prize money to spend, and a very tired poo in the car on the way home...and a huge fireworks display in Hawera when we arrived home just after 9pm. I'm sure Riley thought they were for him. LOL.

Proud wee Poo this morning, posing for his mama

So maybe I should get my A into G and travel to some more shows...he's obviously ready for it!

Very Bad Blogger

Yep, it's been a few months of no real blogging and what is my excuse?  Dog shows, holidays, playing with photo scanners....you name it, it has kept me out of my craft room!
On our holiday to Hawkes Bay I picked a pile of old negatives and slides and have been busy playing with them. Here are a few digitised images just to bore you

Me and my beautiful big sister

All the cuzzies at the beach , and our beach transport! (me with the gollie!)

My fabulous pool.... :(

And a real crackup...me at about 14 years old with my big brother in his BODYSHIRT! Woohoooooo!!! Remember them?

Don & Daisy

Just thought I'd quickly share a card I made as a guest designer for the Don & Daisy challenge blog last month...yep I know LAST month, but I blame Tracy for not telling me when it was being used! LMAO!

A circle card with a sentiment in a circle...easy peasy lemon squeezy, and all Marianne Design Dies used and yes they cut so nicely when your C plate hasn't wandered off somewhere (it was having a holiday down behind my desk....must've been the cat's fault cos it wouldn't be mine, I'm so tidy and organised...NOT!)

Bling it

Hello, hopefully you are back into the swing of things and are happily joining us here at Southern Girls. For those of you that have kids, I hope it all went well on their first day back at school.
Ok, so this fortnight the theme is for all all you crafters that like to see lots of "bling".
This round we have 2 lovely sponsors

Scrap of Bull with a great prize pack

AND
Marianne Design

I had a play this time with my Distress Ink markers that I've had for a wee while ( like over a year!LOL!) and never really touched them. Took a bit of getting used to but I think I love them! Just have to remind myself "don't overwet the paper or everything bleeds" .....!!!!

I used a couple of different dies to embellish my card but had trouble cos I lost my C plate for my cuttlebug!!!!!!  Yep, found it the next day after it was TOOOOOOO late. Anyway the dies are Marianne Creatables LR0156 & LR0017.

And for a different take on bling, I used nail polish on my large chipboard butterfly thanks to a suggestion by a fellow crafter (clever Amanda) and it looks very cool IRL!!!!!

A morning at the beach

We're having such glorious weather, it was time for an outing to the beach for the Brodsta and his friends.

Brodie decided to chase seagulls, Solly followed for a wee way then SENSIBLY turned back. Sir Dork however went backwards and forwards after the birdies that just kept flying away. Who would've guessed?

You think I should try again Mum? There's another birdie out there........

Happy New Year!!

No crafting to share, I've been lazy, its been so warm and I've enjoyed just mooching!   Just want to wish everyone a happy New Year.

We had a quiet Christmas, just us and dogs and friends. Brodie had a play with his best buddy on boxing day, the two of them in and out of the paddling pool. They exchanged pressies of course!

New Years Eve was quiet, went to bed as usual, I'm not a late night person I'm afraid. Woke up to fireworks at midnight, then to an earthquake just after 3am.  Hope it's not a sign of things to come for this year!

Thought I'd share a pic of the finished shed/man cave/ cottage that G built this year. It blends in nicely now that its been stained.
And yes, that is Brodie's paddling pool there, a dog has to keep cool somehow......

The Pohutukawa trees ( aka NZ Christmas trees) are really  blooming at the moment. Aren't they gorgeous?

Happy New Year !!!!
