We think she had a minor stroke on top of everything else (brain tumour) and was having trouble with everything . She lost her appetite . Brodie has lost his big sister who he loved to torment and I've lost my big golden shadow......

Bruno & Abbie did everything together when they were young. Then Bruno died almost exactly 2 years ago. Abbie plodded on, became my shadow. I could always rely on her to be there!
This is my favourite pic of them almost exactly 13 years ago, when we brought her and her brother Bruno home. Now she's gone to be with him .......

I just saw your post in my reader and had to stop by and say how sorry I am for your loss. We too had a golden who made it just about the same number of years and had similar problems at the end. Cancer took our Stormy about 3 years ago and we still miss her. The first weeks without her were very difficult. It's tough to lose a companion like that. My prayers are with you.

Oh God Viv, I have tears streaming down my face - I'm so sorry to hear this news, it's so hard losing a family member, even when you know they have had the best life. Big hugs to you and Gavin.

Oh geez Viv! I am soooo sorry. I wish I could give you a hug. I'm so glad that she had someone to welcome her on the other side but it's so hard for us left behind.
I can go on and on-- but I just want to say she looks gorgeous and loved and was very lucky to live with you and your pack.
That's the hard part of being a pet owner. you will always outlive your pets and you will always have to be the one to make some difficult decisions... but in the end, they leave knowing they were loved.

Oh Viv, Breanagh was all teared up telling me when I got home. Brandy sends her love, she will miss her "childhood friend".
This is the hardest decision we ever have to make for our fur babies, but somehow they seem to tell us it's ok.
