Sassy Spots!

For once I have done a card for a challenge that is not a DT card! Yippee!  Actually, I don't really like how this card came out...just doesn't look right to me.  Anyway, its got the polka dots and that's all I need for the Sassy Cheryl challenge this week.    The paper is MME So Sophie and the image is from Sassy Cheryl. The punch is MS, the ribbon from Scrappin Patch.

New DT

OK its official!  The Southern Girls Challenge is almost ready to start and the DT has been picked and I 'm on it! Yahoo! Lou and Tracy have been busy organizing all the details, getting sponsors, setting challenges and making the hard decisions as far as DT members goes. What was going to be a small team has grown! LOL! Can't wait to get started.

Last Card

Unfortunately this is the last challenge for Isabella's Sketchbook for the forseeable future. However, the shop will be open and Isabella will add the odd new image as she finds the time .  The challenge this week is  "Make your own flowers".   I've used " Morning Flower" available from Isabella's Sketchbook.  The paper is prima, I've distressed the edges, used walnut stain distress ink  and antique linen distress stickles.
I printed out a second image, to cut out some of the leaves and flowers and pop them up.  My handmade flowers are punched with retro flower punches, and the lollipop flowers with various round punches. The sentiment is a stamp from Catslife Press.

Summer Holiday?

This cool stamp was given to me by my friend Tracy and though I've had it coloured ready for ages, I've only just put it together on a card.  Yes, we have an orange & white Kombi called Bryan , and we love the van as it was a huge job restoring it from a stripped shell. We're already planning the next getaway in it....just gotta wait for the weather to warm up a bit....
Anyway, I though maybe this would be perfect for Gav's b'day. I know its a bit girlie but its a Kombi!

The paper is BG Lime Rickey, the sentiment is from Catslife Press, I'ves used glossy accents on the windscreen and lights, and coloured with copics. Fairly simple, a few dew drops, a button, some coloured string,  some metallic brad thingies and there we have it.

Hide it!

Its been a cold day after some very mild days so far this week and I don't know that I've achieved much but I have finished my card for Isabella's Challenge! This week you need to hide something.   I've hidden a tag behind the image as the photos show.  The image is " Fresh Flowers" from Isabella's Sketchbook and I had fun colouring this one with my copics.

The swirls in the corners are cuttlebug vintage, the flowers from Wild Orchids and leaves from a local florist. I've added liquid pearls, stickles and prima bling. I distressed around the image with distress inks.  The sentiment is from Catslife press, paper is MME Bella bella, and cardstock is SU. I stitched around the paper with my machine...getting the hang of it now!
Right, now head on over to see what the talented ladies on the design team have whipped up for you this week and why not join in. There are two digis to be won and if we get 9 entries there will be a top pick from Isabella also.

Wedding Card No 2

Yeh, I know, I'm very slow at getting these wedding cards together but there is no rush, they're not getting married till next year. This one I've gone for a completely different look to the last. The image is a digi from S2G and I've finally cut up my prima papers that I've had for ages.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the pearl sprays from my stash, the border punch is a new MS punch. I've distressed the edges and added stickles everywhere, and some liquid pearls. The doilie I got from Joanna Sheen and sprayed it with perfect pearls & walnut stain distress ink in a minimister. The pin is from Tracy! Ta Trace!

I'm entering this in the Crazy Challenge- hearts & love

Now for those of you who are desperate to know about my DIY skills...I brooded about the gate last night and this morning went out there and attacked it with a sledge hammer! ROTFLMAO! No way was it going to beat me!  A few whacks and the gate slipped back to where it should be and a screw or two in the bolt held it all in place. All without scary blades being involved! Need anything fixing, call me! I have a sledgehammer!

Ouch!

Its a beautiful warm morning and I was inspired to do some repairs. I took a battery drill, screws and some marine ply out to dog training this morning to plug a hole in the fence that the gingeroo can get through. That went fine. I like drills!
Then I dug out the club hammer and nails to try and fix the gate which someone has done a bodgey job on and it wont shut ( held closed with a bungy cord!) . Yep, skinned knuckle on my thumb and my index finger which has been giving me grief ( thought it was a Brodie injury but has been going on too long now) is now numb! I NEEEED to leave hammers alone! LOL! Didn't fix the gate, need  Gav's sabre saw for that !( OK I can hear you from hear....LEAVE BLADES ALONE!!!!!!)   I did manage to nail a few planks back in place though! Don't think I'll be quitting my day job to be a builder.......

Vintage

Had a chance to play just for the sake of it today after a bit of tidying (uuughhh!) in my craft room and I decided to ink up one of the gorgeous hAnglar images sent to me by a friend a few months ago. I get the heebees doing this, what if I muck it up!!!! I used copics of course, added some stickles, kaisercraft bling, flowers from wild orchid crafts, the charm and raffia ribbon from Bunny Zoes and  I found the paper buried in a box, its BG Stella Ruby and I've hardly ever used it.

Scraps!

Time to use up those scraps and anything that you've had forever! This week at Isabella's challenge we have been challenged to use small pieces of designer paper (no bigger than 3"x 3") , use embellies from your stash (or make your own) but nothing new on this card.  Hmmmmmmm. This card went through several transformations, just wasn't happy with it!  The image I had picked out and coloured just didn't look right so I had to start again .  Anyway, finally  settled on this. The paper is bits of SU , I've stitched it to SU cardstock, random flowers, liquid pearls, brads from my stash, lace I've had forever, and the lovely "Sunday Apron" and "Time to bake" images from Isabella's Sketchbook. I've coloured with copics, stickled all over, aged with vintage photo distress ink and here it is!

Not such a Man now.....

Brodie had the snip 2 weeks ago and his stitches out earlier this week. We had to keep the Elizabethan collar on him for a few days and the big dork acted like it wasn't even there. He ran around madly, crashing into everything, including me! Yes, I have the bruises to show for it . The vet said " Keep him quiet for 10 days" .  Yeh RIGHT!!!!!
DH reckoned last week that Brodie had quietened down already...hahahahahahahahahahaha!   Personally, I think it'll take about 2 more years before he matures and settles down!
Here is a photo of him playing with his buddy Solomon a few weeks ago, and yes Brodie is the doofus on top, Solly  is grabbing his leg! They play constantly for at least an hour before needing a rest.

This  is Solly trying to take Brodie for a walk, he's not being very co-operative!
And this is the family waiting to see if any food might come their way! LOL! ( Riley taking a bow for you!)

Buttons & Bows

Dig out your stash of buttons and do like I did...spend an hour sorting into colour groups! LOL! This week at Isabella's Challenge we want you to use at least one button and one bow, or you can use as many as you want.
I've used Kaisercraft Lush papers, stamped the green background with a SU swirl stamp, ribbon & buttons from my stash, swirls from Tim Holtz and sewed with my machine.
The image is from Isabella's Sketchbook, its called "Waiting". I've coloured with copics and used some craft pebbles for a textured floor. She's standing on chunky carpet!LOL!

Once again my teamies have thrown together some gorgeous cards to inspire you so hop on over to the challenge blog and check it out. Remember, you need an Isabella image to enter. There are 2 free images to win every week  and a freebie in Isabella's store if you need a starting point.  Once we get over 9 entries, there will also be a special " Isabella pick" for extra prizes.  So come and join us!
